<VV> Door latch mechanism - broken return spring

Chuck, About 20 years ago I had that spring break on the passenger side
door of my Corsa.  Like you, I didn't have a replacement latch mechanism
handy.  I drilled a few holes and mounted a "replacement" spring on the
outside of the latch mechanism as a temporary fix.  I can't remember for
sure but I think the "temporary" fix is still in place and still
working.  No way to tell without taking the door apart.  --J.B.
