The replacement main bearings I have used have always had this offset. It
is indicated by an ink mark.

The bearing at the flywheel end has been discussed in the past on this
venue. Engineers developed a special bearing in which the center was
slightly offset. This was to remove a 'bump' sound at idle. Replacement
bearings did not have this offset. Crankshafts have been known to fracture
even with this special bearing.
