One must remember that gasoline is a blend -- one of the components in
the blend are some high volatiles that are meant to evaporate fast to
allow for easy starting of a cold engine -- the mix varies with climate,
season and anticipated temperature -- at least until these new ethanol
fuels came along, but if it it is smelling like bad gas (varnish), it
has gone way past the time when those high volatiles have evaporated,
and most of the next level of volatiles are gone, too. Get rid of the
gas, and next time you fill up, use some Marine Stabil if the rig is
going to set more than those "3 days" (or maybe find a source of no
ethanol fuel). Carbs are probably pretty gunky, too.

Note: you only need EITHER good chokes OR good accel pumps -- both are
not "required" for easy starts, helpful maybe, but some carbs don't even
come with chokes in them -- they must think you keep your Ferrari in an
A/C garage ...
