I had one fail shortly after I bought the car in 1974 -- I didn't even 
know it was there before that -- but, I had a convertible, too, and that 
circuit breaker looked like a good idea, so the failed HRPT junction got 
replaced with a breaker, all well before the HRPT ever got it's name, 
and certainly prior to any ten year life expectancy.
