Hi Bill, Yes the temp sender is in a different location. The cylinder head temp sender is installed in the bottom of the right cylinder head (passanger side) towards the rear. It sounds like you have a bad oil pressure sender (next to the alternator). It requires a special socket to remove and install it. It is a fairly common tool as it is used on many GM cars (and probably others).
