I rarely use the hand brake; in a Corvair or any other car. I ALWAYS leave a stick shift car in first gear. My Silverado won't allow me to start the vehicle without depressing the clutch. Harry Yarnell Perryman Garage and Orphanage hyarnell1 at earthlink.net
