ABSOLUTELY................ Our autocross car was running a timed lap 
and a bolt fell out of our idler pulley. The fan belt was drawn 
forward againt the steel fuel line and the idler pulley sawed the 
fuel line in two in very short order. The only good part was the 
engine was turned off, the pump quit pumping gas so the amount of gas 
was small but managed to burn several spark plug wires and two  K&N 
air filters before the fire was extinquished.
