Stock oil pressure switch went south, there was no connection to ground when the engine was OFF. My FLAPS didn't have an oil pressure switch, and Clark's says theirs is junk (as previously posted).

I took at stab when I was at the FLAPS and asked if they had an oil switch for an '89 Caprice, 5.0L carbureted V8.

It looked almost identical to the Vair switch, has the same threads, and seems to work perfectly. I was able to install the switch in the same location and there were no problems.

It was a couple of bucks more expensive than the Clark's cheapo unit, but when you add in the shipping, it actually came out a couple bucks cheaper.

If I run the engine, then shut it off, and turn the ignition back on, the TEMP/PRESS light stays off for an instant, then comes on indicating low, or no pressure. Just like the original.

Next time I'm under the lower shrouds, I'll check to see that the temp switch is connected correctly.
