<VV> New engine possibility for the Corvair

At the Fan Belt Toss, someone told me that the Mazda rotary engine could be 
 re-configured -  somehow disassembling the motor and "Turning around" the  
rotor, and reassembly - to run in the opposite direction. I know next to 
nothing  about the Wankel design.  Has anybody heard this before, or, more  
importantly actually seen this done? Any possibility of this happening?
