If we take a planned long trip there are a few basics we carry simply
because if we break down and need one it would probably be impossible
to find locally.

A spare tire
A mechanical fuel pump
An axle end yoke (1960-64)
A spare axle with a good bearing (60-64)
A spare fan belt
A spark plug
Basic tools

Sometimes we might take a few other extra things but at the age of our
cars really anything could fail.

On a really long trip where time is very tight we might include

A replacement distributor
A replacement carb
Wire-hoses-fuses
A valve cover gasket
2 Extra manifold crossover packings
