Install the pistons into the cylinders from the top (or bottom) first, then
slide the cylinders, pistons, and the rods as a unit into the case together.
Make sure you have the pistons installed the right way!  The notch or mark
should be facing the flywheel and the cap numbers should be visible from the
top, and obviously, both sides should have the numbers facing up.  Don't
forget the base gasket!

 

I find a section of rubber hose slid over the head studs with a head nut
cinched down on it works to keep the cylinders from moving around while you
turn the crank to reach the other cylinders.  Without this it's a real pain
to keep them in place.
