Hi Harry,

More specifically, a "V" code is an 80 HP FC MT engine.  Source - CORSA Tech Guide.

Since the year isn't coded into the engine, if the engine is original it was built on March 27, 1962, for this early production 1963 FC.  That seems like a fairly early code, but the trucks may have had more lead time than the cars.
