Reporting in from the Florida Keys, where I'm spending the week on R&R.

Originating from home base: St. Petersburg, I took the 64 Spyder to stretch her legs,,, it is about 360 miles, one way. And, while here, I'll surely cruse up and down the chain of islands several times. The weather is perfect for tops down, and the view in the Keys is always outstanding.

Coming down I took mostly interstate and Florida Turnpike, and averaged 65-to-70 mph. Although, I was in boost quite often... highway passing is so easy with a turbo... feel like king of the highway! Even with speeds mostly above 55, fuel mileage wasn't bad at 18 - 20 mpg.

Fuel: because the Spyder stays dormant, a lot, I'm still running non-ethanol fuel in that Corvair. Using my GPS to locate non-eth stops was easy, picking addresses from this site: http://pure-gas.org/ Most stations just carry 90-octane "recreational" fuel, but with a healthy dose of RXP fuel treatment, the Spyder didn't knock or ping,..even in heavy boost.

The Spyder looks good nearby the water: took and posted up a few pictures: http://rides.webshots.com/album/579212520tpaPVV

Cheers!
Mike Mauro
