<VV> Drive your Corvair Day into another Carburetor Odyssey

Hi all !

Well, I'm celebrating the 51st Un-niversary by not getting the car running -
again ! Getting closer though !

I rebuilt both carbs with new gaskets, accelerator pumps, needles, adjusted
according to GM manual :
Now right carb seems OK, but left side "burps" gas ?

Bob Helt's carb book is on its way ?

Removed carb to double-check clearances and floats are fine :

Floats are clean, no holes (no "slosh")

Which way should the "venturi basket" face ? Is this a problem ?

GM manual shows basket facing front (as in pix), but it faced to side when I
removed it ?

Is this orientation critical ?

Charlie
