<VV> No compression in #3

I'll check the head gaskets, but I am checking mostly things that will give 
absolute zero compression, but gaskets, rings, stems, etc, can all conspire 
against me, so I'll check all of these ...

I'm sorry if this has already been suggested, I'm offline and only checking 
on my blackberry, so haven't seen all the story. Has the head gasket ( or 
either of the surfaces against it) for that cylinder been ruled out as the 
culprit?
