Subject: Corvair stalling problem

Hello, This past Saturday I had my 1962 Corvair Monza in a parade in Port
Aransas , Texas as part of their Centennial festival. The parade was about 2
miles long it moved very slowly perhaps 2 or 3 miles per hour and stopped
often, the weather was hot about 85 degrees. When the parade was over (thank
the stars) I was waiting at a stop sign and my car just quit, I bought a new
battery that morning so the car would turn over well but it would not start.
After a few minutes I was able to start the car and I hightailed it to a gas
station and filled it up with premium and then my car still was running
rough. I live about 20 miles from Port Aransas and decided to get home,
after stalling at another stop sign , I was able to get on the highway and
drive 65 miles an hour home with no problem. Do you think this could be a
vapor lock problem ? Maybe a weak fuel pump that I should replace or any
other suggestions would be appreciated. By the way I love this car.
 Larry
