they are used on the motor and differential cover , along with other places of the body. it is nice to remove the bed cover over the axle (watch for heater box nuts if so equipped) to clean that area of the frame and body..i would not remove the ones on the lower floor areas...probably wont happen (even in texas). regards, tim colson
