Gents, I didn't get over to Home Depot but did find this self adhesive butyl
foil backed sound deadening material designed for automotive use on
Amazon.com.

The Butyl material will not hold moisture.

Not a bad price, either. About $1 a sq foot. Comes in 40 or 60 sq ft rolls.

There is also some 1/4 inch closed cell sound deadening moisture resistent
foam for sale on amazon, which came up below this product in the above
hyperlink.
