<VV> Oil leak on the 90 degree adaptor

After replacing the gaskets and oil filter on the 90 degree adaptor, I
still have a tiny leak (one or two drops on the floor after running
the car). I can put my finger on the bottom of the sealing edge of
the filter and see small amounts of oil on my finger. I know that the
source is not the horizontal bolt gasket. It has to be between the
seal of the filter and the adaptor or perhaps the seal on the piece
that fits between the filter and the adaptor. It is the part that
comes off in two pieces (the piece that seals with the filter gasket
and the bolt that the filter screws on to) when you take off the
horizontal bolt. I tightened the bolt to 20 ft. lbs. and I hand
tightened the filter using a filter wrench to the point where I
thought was about the 15 lbs. recommended in the '65 manual. Could I
have over tightened the filter or is a leak in this area typical?
