I don't have the info in front of me, but my understanding was that using the 889 camshaft lowered the rpm where peak torque was reached, then retarding the camshaft moved the torque band back up a bit to optimize performance for the 140/PG combo. Could it be that the timing wasn't retarded on your setup?
