<VV> Corvair Fuel Mileage

My 68 coupe has a 140,4spd, 3.27 rear. Drive train is stock  rebuilt, with 
electronic ign. On a recent trip to the Myrtle beach show, it  averaged 26 
mpg.(still had points in it,about 500 miles,round trip) On  my trip last 
weekend to the Charlotte show, It got 22. (about 250 miles,round  trip)The 
difference ? average speed. I averaged 60-65 going to the beach.  Charlotte it 
was 70-80 mph. In driving to work,it averages 22. (mixed  interstate/ rural 2 
lanes)
I am happy with the mileage,sure I wish it did better, but the smiles per  
mile and enjoyment in driving it can't be calculated.
