Reporting from Virginia Beach - so far so good. Eye of Irene passing us now Lots of wind and rain and local flooding. No fatalities reported in Virginia Beach so far, sadly, one death in Newport News. Smitty and Helen got out of town a few days ago. I had some difficulty getting the John Glenn Corvair into safe storage area yesterday (fuel line plugged) but finally did so just before the rain started. Will not know full extent of damage in the area until tomorrow after storm is gone. No known damage from tornado yet.
