<VV> corvair oil cooler/cabin heater?

That goes counter to the laws of thermodynamics! What goes in has to come out. Energy is neither created or destroyed.

The reason Corvairs have oil coolers isn't to cool the engine, it's to cool the oil! Nothing wrecks oil faster than excessive temperatures.

Now, oil, due to its viscous nature, makes for a thick boundary layer. Also, the factory 12 plate oil cooler, for instance, probably doesn't have as much area (or at least not much more area) for removing heat as there is area for putting it in! Hence the reason remote coolers work SO much better.

Also oil is great for removing heat, but does not like to give it up.

Oh, there's LOTS of BTUs in the exhaust air from our engines!

Not as much as water, but way more than air.
