I bought a new Vega wagon in '73, drove it 50,000 miles and had NO PROBLEMS
with it. I liked it. I sold it 2 Years later because I wanted to try
something else. I had 6 Corvairs at that time.

There is little doubt that the Vega, and it's "follow-up", the completely
unlamented Chevette (Shove-It!) sold more Toyota's than all the advertising
in Christendom! The Gremlin and the Pinto at least worked, the Vega didn't.

There in an article in our St. Pete Times today that is borrowed from the NY
Times News Service. It is about how American car manufacturers inadvertently
opened the US to imports by producing three of the worst cars ever - the
Vega, Gremlin, and Pinto all at once.
