<VV> How many degrees of Corvair separation?

I like to play a game I call; "How many degrees of Corvair  separation?"  
For instance, take the recent, much bally-hooed Jeopardy  match between two 
humans and Watson, an IBM super computer.  One of the  human contestants, Ken 
Jennings,  wrote alongside his correct Final  Jeopardy response "I for one 
welcome our new computer  overlords."   Nothing to do with Corvairs, you 
say?  Not so  fast.  The line was a reference to a famous "Simpsons" episode.  
And  that "Simpsons" episode is the one where Homer goes up on the Space 
Shuttle  Corvair.  In fact, the Youtube clip that the curious are now being 
sent to  by way of explanation, mentions "the Corvair spacecraft."
