I use vinegar (soak 'em, its cheap stuff) to remove rust and some corrosion. I'd 
just paint the outside and oil the inside.

I've got spare single and double master cylinders that I need to clean  
(some have light rust in the bowls).  What are others doing to both clean  and 
neutralize rust in master cylinders.  I've used diluted phosphoric  acid in 
the past.  I want to store them so they don't continue to  deteriorate.  Who 
knows when I'm old and broke I might be able to sell one  for enough money 
to by a Big Mac.  Any surefire remedies out there?
