make sure you change out the bearing in the corvair front housing with
the one in the rebuilt unit, too. Did this conversion to my 62, works

If you do this , use the rotor and field, with Corvair fan (IMPORTANT)
..and I suggest 80 amps and up...not that big a difference in cost . I like the
 slightly later back with internal regulator best. See the Corsa tech guide
 section on it, easy change over , well worth the effort. buy a connector
at your  Napa store , or better yet , make use of you local junk yard..

Go to  most any FLAPS.  Get a rebuilt one for a '68 Caddy - rated around 50

amps.  Swap the end cap off of your existing one (with the correct  fan)
onto
the "new" one.  Reassemble the old one with the Caddy fan  now on it and
return it for the core charge.
