<VV> checkng engine/ transaxle

  I just raised the Engine into the car with the replacement trans-axle. I would 
like to start the engine and run the trans-axle without the drive shafts or the 
lower struts.

 I don't see what harm this could cause, because it is quite like running it on 
test stand.

 Does anybody see a particular problem? I want to hear if the differential is 
relatively quiet and if the PG shifts  and does not leak.
