I got back home to Durango Colorado clocking just about 3,000 miles on this trip. I am happy to report the Corvan did excellent averaging just about 20MPG so long as I kept my foot out of the throttle. All this while towing a small trailer with an engine and then with an automatic transaxle as well. Stopped off in Denver and saw Steve Goodman who is not lacking Corvair work. I saw a few deer coming back but luckily not colliding with them. And I thank (again) Pete Koehler for fixing up the damage from hitting the deer on our way there. This thanks is for his labor along with his parts which he and John Sweet provided FOR FREE. This Detroit group is great and they put on 1 heck of a show! September is a slow month for me but I'll be in Edmonds Oklahoma for their tri state meet the first weekend of October and then finally Palm Springs the last weekend of October.

>We arrived here in Plymouth Michigan this afternoon and there are already 8 Corvairs in the parking lot. And this event does not even start until tomorrow! I am happy to report the only other issue on my Corvan besides hitting a deer is I lost 1 of the hubcaps. Roads in Michigan are pretty rough. Weather is just about perfect so far on this trip with great weather forecasted thru this weekend. The annual Dale Wilshire picnic was great with about 28 Corvairs from Pikes Peak Corvair Club in addition to the RMC club. Looking forward to seeing everyone this week in Michigan.

>>My wife and I left Durango this morning and unfortuneately hit a deer about 2 hours into our trip. Right front of my 1964 Corvan Camper sustained a bit of damage (broken lens, bent bezel, 2 dents on the body, and some hair). We are now in Denver flying early tomorrow morning to Ontario Calif. to attend my former bosses 50th anniversary party and then we fly back early Sunday morning just in time to attend the Dale Wilshire Memorial Picnic Sunday morning. Dale was 1 of the original founding members of Rocky Mountain Corsa. After the picnic, we are heading east and we expect to be at the DACC Homecoming hopefully by Wednesday. Hoping to see everyone in Detroit next week.
