<VV> Dropped Valve Seat Question

Hi Bob,
The first symptom is the engine is misfiring (due to no compression in a cylinder). When cranking over the engine to start it, you can hear uneven compression in 1 of the cylinders. Also with the engine running you may notice a very noisy lifter due to the pushrod/rocker arm being way out of adjustment. If the valve seat is out far enough to be hit by the piston causing it to break into many pieces, that becomes very noisy. All of these have been my experiences and others here will chime in with theirs. I hope it never happens to you and you're able to keep a perfect record.
