<VV> Driveshaft length on 3-speed vs. 4-speed ?

Correct-o-mundo ~ the "input shaft" is what I should have said ~ mea culpa !

 

I recall changing a 65 4-speed to a 66 Saginaw 4-speed and the brackets
needed to be changed to accommodate the longer box.

 

Good to know that the shaft is not an issue with the LLM (that's
Late-Late-Model) 4-speed,

If by driveshaft you mean input shaft, here's the scoop:
On 65s, the 3 speed shaft is shorter than the 4 speed shaft. 
On 66-69s the 3 and 4 speeds use the same shaft.
