If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to share photos and description of how I installed an inexpensive PretoLite A/C idle-up solenoid on a '66 Monza A/C system with factory condenser located in front of the firewall.
 
I know this has been successfully done for the '65 with the big top-mounted condenser, but I havent' seen anyone post for a 1966 and later system.
 
The installation was easy, inexpensive and not complicated, but you do need the little lever (or equivalent) that mounts to the throttle rod that runs between the left and right carbs.  This is what the solenoid actuates to increase the idle when the A/C compressor is running.
