I think the best replacement for the original door paper is Tyvek [R] 
sheet.  It is liquid water repellent but at the same time breathable so 
that moisture that does get in can dry out faster.  It is kind of 
impractical to buy a 9' X 50' roll for a couple car doors but if one asks 
around they should be able find someone constructing a building that could 
spare a piece.  A house window or door cutout should be enough for a car door.
