1932-1952 or so is about 20 years, and that is just in Ford V-8's -- I'd 
have to look up the last inline flathead produced, but probably sometime 
into the sixties -- the only other thing that comes close (exceeds it) 
is the SBC.  Is your LSx one of those? And maybe the inline Chevy 6.  
How long is / was the run of the Ford 300 6?  In some circles, the 
Flatie is still in favor, and highly so.

Now all you guys with great memories will have something to correct, or 
look up -- aircraft not included.
