I'd leave the glove box alone unless you already intend to replace the 
cardboard.  There is very little wiring on the right side of the dash and 
one of those is to the glove box light if so equipped.  The switch and bulb 
holder are essentially one piece and will come out the front fairly easily. 
Radio, your call.

I replaced a headlight switch with one from the FLAPS a half dozen years 
ago.  IIRC, it was $10.00 or less.
