How did you disconnect the idiot light?  If you disconnected the plug in the engine compartment that the two wires run into, then plug it back in and just disconnect the wire from the oil pressure sender and start the car.  If the light stays out then the oil pressure sender is bad (or you have no oil pressure)  If it comes on and stays on the temp snap switch is most likely bad or the wire going to it shorted.
