Hank,
Just my opinion, but unless you just have to have it completely stock, I would add an oil temperature gauge and an oil pressure shut off switch. The club member that did my first rebuild installed a sensor in the triangular section of the block near the lip of the oil pan next to the crank pulley (I actually saw this in an old Communique, and it's probably in the Tech Guide, also). Later, I used the sensor location on the Clark's ultimate deep oil pan to install a second sensor. It's interesting to see the difference in the temps inside the block and the difference the deep pan cooling makes (about 80 degrees when running in the summer). I also have the Clark's oil shut off due to the fact that I'm using an electric fuel pump (in addition to the inertia switch). I also have a Falcon dual CHT gauge with senders at the base of the #' 3 and 5 plugs and an oil pressure gauge. I have my gauges mounted on a three gauge panel that fits under the ash tray. It would be easily removable IF I wanted a stock look for any reason. Overkill... maybe, so what? I much prefer that to rebuilding the engine a third time any time soon; just a thought.
