One of the best mechanics I've known (even before Corvairs) always used a little anti-seize on the studs before he pressed them in.  His opinion was that he might see that stud again.  (He never got rich, but he saved his money and retired in the mountains).

With all this lather about axle splines being press-fit or lubed; how about
heel studs?
This usually stirs up a hornet's nest of opinions.
I've always put a light coating of anti-seeze on these studs and have never
ad any issue with them loosening on their own.
Flame suit on.
