I was told that there were some questions about my Goodyear Stinger. So this was, and is,  whats up. I bought the car in the fall of 2000. The purchase included YS001, and YS072. I had to promise that all would be restored. All were restored to Concours status within two years. All 3 Stingers will be at the Mecum Action's Muscle Car / Corvette Nationals in Chicago Nov. 17th and 18th.  The person that bought the 69 from Goodyear, painted it a pearl white an put Yenko strips on it. It came from Yenko, just a Corvair white with no stripes. It had about 2200 miles on it. The complete car was blasted with walnut shells. in Feb 2001. The car was completed, and competed at it's first track event in April 2001 at Gingerman Road Course in Michigan. I've run track events from Virginia to Calf. from April 2001 to 2010. At the 2010 Corsa Convention that I chaired. I entered the 69 in Concours. It got into Senior division with a score of 961.7 out of a possible
 1000. For $200, I'm having
it in the concours at the Nov event. I'm interested in seeing how the two concours evaluations come pair to each other.    It's been in the Chevrolet Hall of Fame with Warren LeVeque's Doug Roe car since 2010. Both  toughs cars will be going to Chicago for the Muscle Car / Corvette Nationals show. After the show, the 67 will be sent to a museum for one year, and the Goodyear Stinger well be going back to track events. I'm planning to go to the track event before the convention next year. And want to go to the Gilmore event the day after the convention.  ( Looking for a place to store the 69 in Michigan during the convention. )  I will not be in attendance at the 2013 Corsa convention. More museum displays are in the works.   When  Goodyear needed a test car. They ordered from standard  dealer inventory. In 69, Ford of Australia was developing a car with 13 inch tires that needed tires that could run 130 to 140 MPH. And maintain motor RPM's
in excess of 7000 RPM. Ford did no
t build a car that could do the testing required. According to Goodyear. This Stinger was  the only car that they ever had custom built from the get go, and special ordered from a major manufacture to test tires. It was number 48 in their inventory. It is Also the only Yenko Stinger build in 1969. If anyone is aware of any further information on this car. I would like to see it.  I will not be able to bring any of my 4 Stingers, or go  to Corsa conventions.   Bob Dunahugh    cell  319-521-4891
