<VV> Burning oil

Robert, so how do you know it's just one side? Are you checking spark
plugs? Does it puff smoke on startup? What were your ring end gaps?
What type of rings did you use? What crosshatch pattern did you use on
the cylinder walls? What kind of oil are you using for break in oil?

With only 90 miles on it, nothing is broke in yet. If it runs good just
go drive it. My 110 is at 2000 miles with chrome rings and it just quit
puffing oil on startup at 1700 miles. It still uses a bit, so I am
thinking it will take another 1000 mile to fully seat the rings.
Cast rings should seat in 300 to 500 miles, chrome by 2000-3000 miles,
moly may take that long, too.

Hi folks I have a real tester of a question for you. I have a brand
new rebuilt 110 engine that burns oil on the driver side only,(
90miles on the re build). Only when the car is at idle. There seems
to be little or no oil burning when the car is at speed. The engine
has been acid dipped, new valves, pistons, rings, seals, valve seats,
etc. So it is only on the driver side, only when the car is
idling....any ideas? Ive tried everything I can think of. Thanks in
advance. Robert Paul
