<VV> Corvairs, rare indeed

Joel, you hit the nail on the head.
Cheryl's Vibe is AWD, so when I drive it I can consistantly get 28 mpg (the best was 31 mpg, but that was ALL highway, on our way to Miami last year), but I have to wear the little thing. I'm 6'- 6" tall, and long trips are uncomfortable, especially in hard seats that try to squeeze you into ungodly shapes... well, ok, I guess "normal-sized people" don't have that problem.
:-)
Cheryl consistantly gets 21 mpg or less...
My 62 Greenbrier gets 24 mpg on the highway if I keep it around 65 mph... it can (and will) go faster, but I'm usually in no hurry.
Cheryl's driving reminds me of a guy I worked for years ago... his foot was always on one pedal or the other... never believed in coasting... she's much the same.
Thanks for understanding Joel...
Lonzo

His wife is probably like mine. I can get 29-30 driving her CTS and she only
gets 20. It's a little like the light switches in the house. On is no problem
but off seems to be elusive.

You must be getting fantastic mileage. I have a 2006 and a 2007 Vibe and
get 33 MPG on both. My '64 Monza coupe gets about 25 MPG.

How many miles?
I just purchased my "latest" Greenbrier on New Year's Eve, and it had 88,148
miles on the odometer when we left the former owner's house. It now has
99,940 on it in nine short months, and it was down for about two weeks when
I did the clutch job in February, at which time I drove my "youngest"
vehicle, an '82 F150...
I drive the '62 Greenbrier to work every day, and even when the temps were
in the 100s for about 20 consecutive days here in KY this summer, it was not
uncomfortable...
I'd rather drive it than Cheryl's 2005 Pontiac Vibe... and I get better gas
mileage!
Later,
Lonzo
