Funny to mention.
A friend and I drove to MN a year or two ago to pick up
our ‘32 LaSalle. It was Labor Day weekend and no banks
were open and seller wanted cash. It wasn’t until after
we loaded the car in the trailer and I paid for the car that
my friend figured out why I was taking my briefcase in with
me whenever we stopped for lunch! I had to arrange two
days ahead for my main branch BECU Credit Union to have
the bills ready for my pickup.

Thank drug dealers for that! A million in hundreds weighs over 100 pounds, and large interbank bills just made their work too easy.

It's too bad we don't still use at least the $500 and $1000. It would make my
wallet far less lumpy. I have to have cash on hand for the day I find that 63

It seems I remember The Mint casino in Las Vegas had on display $1,000,000. This
memory is from the late 60s and/or the early 70s. I think they were all in
10,000 bills.
