<VV> Another PG Question

Hi Matt,

I'm now thinking that the mysterious leak and the smoke suggest a problem
with the vacuum modulator but I'm still curious as to how else this would
show up in the driving of the car, specifically the shifting?

Regards,
Bob

While test driving my friends 67 PG today I noticed from a cloud of smoke
(whitish in colour) coming out of the exhaust, typically on acceleration. I
checked the manual and it mentioned that this could be transmission fluid
resulting from a ruptured diaphragm in the vacuum modulator. Interestingly
enough the PO said it was "losing" transmission fluid but while it's been in
my garage I haven't see any on the floor or around the engine.
Thanks from a PG "newbie"

Bob

Ruptured modulator lets ATF into the 1/8" line that goes to the Balance
tube.. to the carbs... out the exhaust.... not on the floor!! gg
