 That, and have you seen the max pressures on some of the newer tires? My Legacy GT has 215/45-17s, and the sidewalls are marked 'Max Press 51 PSI'! I doubt anyone wants to run that high. Well, autocrossing, MAYBE...

Tire manufacturer has no clue what car the tires are to be used on. Should use 
car manufacturer recommendations..... Corvars run well with about 20 front 30 
rear.

I always inflate the rears to the max. recommended by the tire manufacturer as 
indicated on the sidewall and then inflate the fronts to 10 fewer p.s.i.
