After Chevrolet discontinued production of the Corvair, after Ultra Inc. closed its doors, 12 years after building the original Ultra Van, Dave Peterson came up with a whole new design - the Super Ultra Coach. He tried to get Ed Cole to produce it, actually signed a 12 month exclusivity contract with FMC, and finally went into limited production in Sonoma CA. In the end only five were built, only three were ever finished, and only one is still on the road:
