<VV> carb leak

Ray, fuel will leak out at the throttle shafts as it boils out the
vents when hot, while it is also going down the intake and flooding the
engine.
On the flip side air leaks in when the engine is running and leans the
mixture. The fix for the fuel leak is to lower the float level a bit
and control the fuel pressure, plus replace the throttle shafts and add
the throttle shaft seal kits. Mark Durham

Ray,
I had a carb leak at the little lead shot seal where the bowl is
drilled for the idle enrichment circuit... it was on a '66... check to
see if that's the culprit... unless you have "early carburetors" on
your ride...

A couple of  people replied that the leak could be from the throttle shaft
due to wear, wouldn't that only cause an air leak and not a fuel leak?
