Didn't Chevy put one based on a Corvair engine in a 1962 full size Chevrolet to try it out?  I've seen grainy photos in the Communique.

Yes, the Piper PA-24-400, and a Aero
Commander twin used a pair of them, and there were a bunch of ag spray
planes that used them, too.

I used to work on a couple of them. They had cooling issues, getting
good air from the front of the cowl to those two back cylinders. But
otherwise a reliable smooth engine.
