Jabiru, the Australian aircraft manufacturer had a flat eight available,
although it isn't currently listed on their website. I think it may be
available to order.  The J5100 engine has the following specifications

    4 Stroke
    8 Cylinder horizontally opposed
    1 central Camshaft with Push Rods
    Over head Valves (OHV)
    Ram air cooled
    Wet Sump lubrication
    Direct Propeller drive
    Dual independent transistorised Magneto Ignition
    Integrated AC Generator
    Electric Starter
    Mechanical Fuel Pump
    Naturally aspirated - 2 pressure compensating Carburettors
    10 Bearing Crankshaft

Engine Specifications:

    Displacement.........................5100cc (310in)
    Bore.....................................as above
    Stroke..................................85mm
    Rotation of Prop Shaft..............clockwise - pilot's view - tractor
    Ramp Weight..........................120kg (264lb) inc. Exhaust, Carb.,
Starter Motor, Alternator & ignition systems
    Power rating..........................170hp @ 2,700rpm, 180hp @ 3000 rpm
    Fuel consumption...................30-31 l/hr @ 75% power (6.8 imp gph)
(On an RV6 with Sensenich propeller @ 2600RPM)
    Fuel......................................AVGAS 100/130
    Oil.........................................Aeroshell W100 or equivalent
    Spark Plugs............................NGK D9EA - Automotive

Didn't Chevy put one based on a Corvair engine in a 1962 full size Chevrolet
to try it out?  I've seen grainy photos in the Communique.

 Yes, the Piper PA-24-400, and a Aero
Commander twin used a pair of them, and there were a bunch of ag spray
planes that used them, too.

I used to work on a couple of them. They had cooling issues, getting good
air from the front of the cowl to those two back cylinders. But otherwise a
reliable smooth engine.
