ray, odd shaped washer gizmos does n.ot translate. If you are talking
about the the washers that go on top of the springs , yes just file
them a bit. NAPA has kits of brake parts.

The adjusters should work fine.

Subject: <VV> 62-63 brake parts
Hi folks,

Thank you to those who suggested using hose clamps to fix the parking brake
cable problem. It seems to have worked beautifully.

I'm currently working on Missy's 62 coupe and had a couple quick
questions. First, I've swapped 63 axles, wheel bearings, backing plates,
and brake assemblies onto the 62. Can I convert the 62 front brakes to
self adjusting by simply installing the 63 adjuster parts? It looks like
that should work, but I figured I'd better check and make sure the 63 self
adjuster parts are compatible with the 62 front backing plates.

The other question is about those odd shaped washer gizmos that go on just
before the springs. I'm missing these. I found one pair but the hole in
them was too small (different year I guess). Can I just enlarge the hole
in the ones I found or are there other differences? If I can't do that I
might need to locate a pair of them (for the 62 front brakes).

Thanks,

Ray R.
