They did sell Corvairs in Japan.  If a G.I. had taken it to Japan, why would it have a Japanese tag in the engine compartment?

Lots of GIs took cars to Japan, I'm more surprised that it came back, and that subsequent owners didn't remove the tag.

Is the car different than standard U.S. '64s other than the tag in Japanese?
hat about the speedometer/odometer?  Metric or English?  Etc.
